Halloween Afternoon

Some parents very generously offered to provide crafts for the afternoon's celebration.  The kids had a wonderful time visiting four craft stations. You can see the delight in their faces!

Following craft time, they enjoyed some freeze dancing to Halloween tunes.

The Masterminds! We can't thank you enough!...

Halloween Morning

In the morning, the children practiced Halloween poems in groups with friends and then "performed" them for the class.  Some chose to simply read the poems and others added some dramatic effects.

Our First Weeks

The school year is well-underway now!  Here's a peek into our days...

During writing workshop, kids are brainstorming ideas for true stories and jotting entries based on memory in their writer's notebooks.  They are practicing adding dialogue and character's actions. Next, they'll be choosing one of their favorite entries to fully develop into a short story.

At this stage, they often share their entries in small groups, asking each other questions to clarify confusing parts.

Mid-morning the kids take a fun movement break.  Sometimes this involves a visit to the playground, but most often the kids move, dance, and jump to videos on GoNoodle!

French lessons take place in the classroom twice per week with Madame Chase, who employs songs and games and all kinds of engaging activities to get the kids immersed in speaking French.
